Advisors - Clinical & Technical

During my medical residency, I realized I did not want to be on the front lines, practicing medicine one patient at a time. I left medical practice at the Palo Alto VA Healthcare System to work in the med tech industry, designing and executing clinical trials. After several experiences with US FDA, I became more interested in the development of new technology and regulation of medical devices. It is especially fun to work with experts in areas of surgery and medicine, learning how they think and helping to bring them approaches to disease management that meet their needs. I have been fortunate to participate in the realization of several medical devices to treat both fatal diseases and improve quality of life.

As a tech geek, I’m fascinated by how technology can be used to reduce the impact of disease or change its course. As a statistics nerd, I’m keen to see apply advanced data analysis to changing human behavior, and Motiv8’s work gives me the opportunity to do that.

When not working, I’m an active violinist, playing in Saint Michael Trio (a Palo Alto-based piano trio), orchestras and chamber music with friends – I’ve performed several times with Eugene.
